The stretch is approximately 1 mile long and extends from Hagg wood at the top limit down to Gawthorpe hall. This is a stretch of many pools separated by riffles and is an excellent stretch for fly-fishing with plenty of brown trout all along. Best method is to use sparsely dressed nymphs but dry fly also scores well. Trotting with worm or maggot can also find a few chub to around 2lb.
